BERLIN - Attacking midfielder Aitana Bonmati from champions Spain was named best player of the women's World Cup and team-mate Salma Paralluelo best young player of the tournament after Sunday's final, reported dpa news agency.
Bonmati from Champions League winners Barcelona got the Golden Ball award after Spain's 1-0 victory over England in the Sydney final.
The 19-year-old Paralluelo, also from Barcelona, got her award for a breakthrough event in which she scored two goals, the extra-time 2-1 quarter-final winner over the Netherlands, and in the 2-1 semi-final win against Sweden.
England's Mary Earps won the Golden Glove for best goalkeeper of the month-long tournament in Australia and New Zealand. The Manchester United keeper saved a penalty from Jenni Hermoso in the final where she was at her best again.
