ALOR SETAR - There have been rumours of discontent among members of Kedah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) regarding the appointment of the state government's exco line-up, which will take place on Monday at the Anak Bukit Palace.
According to a source, the problem arose when the party was given only three exco slots compared to five previously.
Bukit Kayu Hitam assemblyman Halimaton Shaadiah Saad was set to be re-elected as exco, along with two new Bersatu members.
A source in Bersatu had voiced out dissatisfaction that only three party representatives will be nominated to the exco posts after contributing 11 seats in Perikatan Nasional's (PN) victory in Kedah on Aug 12.
The media was also informed that the state Bersatu would hold a press conference over the dissatisfaction of the exco's appointment at their office. However, the press conference was canceled at the last minute.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has previously said that the sole representative from Gerakan who won in the state election in the state can be appointed as the state government exco.
He said the party's representative, Wong Chia Zhen, who won the Kulim state seat will be considered to fill in the appropriate portfolio.
