Its 'haram' to spread pictures, videos for victims' remains - Zulkifli Al Bakri

SHAH ALAM: The fatal plane crash in Elmina, Shah Alam, yesterday shook the whole country, and the victims' families are still grieving for the untimely deaths of their loved ones.

Ten people were confirmed dead in the crash, including six passengers on the plane, two crew members, and two civilians who were accidentally killed when the plane crashed.

Following the tragedy, netizens and social media users have been sharing news of the incident along with pictures of the plane crashing; some have also shared videos of the charred bodies of victims who perished in the accident.

Following this, former religious affairs minister Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri has urged the people to immediately stop spreading any pictures or videos of the tragedy.

"It is 'haram' unlawful to spread videos or pictures of the victims involved in the tragedy, including the motorcyclist whose body was seen charred.

"This will hurt their families. This also invokes his dignity," Zulkifli said in a Twitter post.

He further cited Prophet Muhammad's saying that every Muslim is responsible for another Muslim's privacy, assets, and bloodline.

This is from Riwayat Muslim (2564), said Zulkifli.
