SHAH ALAM – The Beechcraft 390 Premier 1 aircraft that crashed in Elmina 8 Central Park, Section U16, here on Thursday did not have an Aircraft Data Recorder, unlike usual commercial planes.
The Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, stated that instead, the aircraft only had a Cockpit Data Recorder box, and it was recovered last night.
He said that findings from the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) also confirmed that the aircraft in question only had one black box component, which is the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR).
"So, this aircraft only has one black box type, the CVR, and it was found last night, not two as we initially expected.
"This type of aircraft doesn't have the Flight Data Recorder that we have been looking for since yesterday. So, the Cockpit Data Recorder has been retrieved to aid the investigation late last night," he said.
He made these remarks when asked about the latest developments in the search for the aircraft's black box.
