KUALA LUMPUR - Observations made on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage involving Siti Kasim's vehicle has yet to produce any leads.
Former Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said there checks conducted on the CCTV footage did not show that the vehicle was approached by any suspicious individuals.
"There were no fingerprints from suspected individuals found on the vehicle either ,” he said after the Induction and Handover of Duties of the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief at the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) here on Monday.
Shuhaily said further investigations on the case were underway.
"Investigations is still ongoing and this case is not closed, it’s just that we’ve not found any new leads.
"Any individuals with information, please step forward and channel it to the police,” he said.
In an earlier report, police had confirmed that several individuals including witnesses around the location of the bomb’s discovery had their statements recorded.
On July 21, police had also confirmed that the object placed near the rear tyres of activist Siti Kasim’s car was an improvised explosive device (IED).
Siti Kasim had uploaded it on her personal Facebook page and claimed there was an object that seemed like a bomb on her vehicle.
She said she realised the item was placed on the vehicle when she sent her car to a service centre in Jalan Maarof at noon.
