SHAH ALAM - The huge victory for Perikatan Nasional (PN) across Terengganu, Kedah and Kelantan proved that the people are certain and confident in the party's government.
Its secretary general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the substantial increase in votes for PN in Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan also is giving the impression that the people wants change.
He said that the people want a government that is more responsive to their issues.
"Therefore, PN will continue to fight together with the people to achieve a better, transparent and fair Malaysia for all parties regardless of skin colour, race and religion.
"We will also ensure that this party becomes a shelter which is aware of and sensitive towards every pulse and sighs of the people," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian on Sunday.
On Saturday, PN won 60 per cent or 146 seats out of a total of 245 contested seats in the state polls.
PN's success in defending the states of Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu with a great victory proved the strong support of Malay voters for PN.
The party had also made major inroads in Selangor by winning 22 seats compared to only five previously held by PN
Hamzah added that every problem of the people is part of PN's fight.
He also thanked all the voters who voted for PN's candidates in the election.
"Now, the people's referendum had been translated as best as possible on the ballot paper," he said.
