KUALA LUMPUR - No illegal rally nor gathering took place following the state polls' results yesterday.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said that political parties' supporters have showcased a commendable reception until today (Sunday) and no undesired incident had happened.
"This time, there is no parade, they (political parties) have a big heart and accepted the results announced by the Election Commission (EC) last night.
"I also thank the Police Volunteer Reserve (PVR), the Malaysia Volunteers Corps Department (Rela) as well as the police officers and personnel who were involved throughout the state polls process," he told Sinar Harian, today.
He also congratulated the future Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers appointed to govern their respective states.
Yesterday, Razarudin said roadblocks through 'Op Kawal Nusa' will be implemented throughout the country starting midnight.
The police were on standby to prevent crime and ensure the public's safety and order.
The state election's results yesterday across the six states showed that Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) managed to dominate Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan while the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition political parties remained in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
