SEBERANG JAYA - Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates in Penang did good despite the party's tight budget, thanks to Bersatu's frozen account.
Former Seberang Jaya assemblyman Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah said most of the candidates conducted their campaigns with whatever fundings they were able to get eventhough at the eleventh hour.
"But, the hard work gave them a great experience. Because when you work hard, your sincerity is suffice and you will be blessed by Allah," he said in an exclusive interview with Sinar Daily.
The two-term assemblymen from Barisan Nasional (BN) said that it is highly possible for PN to form a new government if there are no foul plays.
"I believe not only PN can garner strong winning, with blessing of Allah, they may be able to form a new government. It is possible, just that we need to avoid doing mistakes," he said.
Based on the momentum, Arif said, most voters have already make up their mind on whom to vote.
"I believe there will be more inclination towards PN but there shouldn't be any foul play.
"Because we are very worried that the opponent armed with the government machinery and financial resources would make use of government agencies to point a gun at certain leaders in certain organisation," he said.
Arif, who served for two terms from 2004 to 2013 under BN, was sacked from his party in 2012.
