SHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional (PN) MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has said that the current government has no direction, is fragile and defensive.
Speaking at the PN Pentas Setiausaha Agung in Shah Alam on Saturday, Fadhli said that the current government is in disarray due to the ongoing legal troubles of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
"Zahid's case has led to many Umno members boycotting the government.
"They are angry with Zahid and they no longer trust the government," he said.
Fadhli also said that the current government is fragile because it is not clear who is in charge.
"Yesterday, when questioned about why the Prime Minister and Finance Minister are the same person, the government's answer was that the Finance Minister only manages financial matters.
"This is ridiculous. The Finance Minister has to make decisions as well, not just manage things," he said.
Fadhli added that the current government is also defensive.
"Recently, when the Prime Minister visited a senior citizen, he shook hands with him and then put something in his pocket.
"This is a 'salam kahut', which is a gesture of disrespect. It shows that the government is afraid of the people," he stressed.
Fadhli urged Malays and non-Malays to vote for PN in the upcoming general election.
"PN is not the enemy of the non-Malays. We are the only party that can offer stability and prosperity for all Malaysians."
