SETIU - The victory of Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the six upcoming state elections on Aug 12 could potentially lead to changes in the federal government, claims Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

He said there is a possibility that MPs from Umno, Sabah and Sarawak will support this his coalition.

"Some (MPs) are waiting for state elections results from the six states, so the victory of PN is crucial, not only for Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Terengganu, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan, but also to bring about changes in the federal government," he said during Mega State Election Campaign in Setiu 4-0 at Langkap last night.

He said the victory of PN is crucial because it will create pressure on Putrajaya when all six states are governed by PN.

"This is the political work that we must understand. It's not just about thinking locally (when voting) but about considering the power of the Muslim community," Hadi added.

The event was also attended by state candidates for Dr Azman Ibrahim (Jabi), Mohd Yusop Majid (Permaisuri), Azmi Maarof (Langkap) and Mohd Shafizi Ismail (Batu Rakit).

Hadi also urged all voters to vote on Aug 12.

"In Islam, elections (people) must choose leaders who are religious, knowledgeable and of noble character. These are the criteria for selecting leaders," he added.
