KUALA LUMPUR - Voter turnout for the six-state elections and the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election was more than 50 per cent as of 11am today.
According to the Election Commission (EC), Kelantan still had the highest percentage at 63 per cent, followed by Kedah at 61 per cent and Negeri Sembilan at 60 per cent.
Terengganu and Penang recorded 59 per cent each; Selangor at 55 per cent; while the Kuala Terengganu Parliamentary by-election had 53 per cent of voter turnout.
A total of 260 early voting centres involving 377 channels for the Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan state elections simultaneously opened at 8am.
Also opened were three early voting centres for the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election at the Terengganu contingent police headquarters. - BERNAMA
