Smooth sailing in Sentul as army personnel cast votes

SENTUL - Amidst the calm environment, here, with police and army personnel lining up for early votes, Firdays Rodzi, a 30-year-old army personnel who voted alongside his family, expressed a positive outlook.

He told Sinar Daily that he aspires to witness better leadership in Malaysia and believes that this can be achieved if everyone plays their role in voting.

The early voting day for military personnel at Dewan Dato’ Yaacob, Sentul started at 8am sharp and closes at 5pm.

The voting process has been running smoothly so far with a total of 96 voters present today.

An additional 58 voters opted for postal voting, according to Commander Zamri bin Zainal, 51, the commanding officer at the 91 Central Supply Depot.

By 10 am, 90 individuals have already casted their votes. Election Commission are waiting for remaining six voters.

Another voter, Md Kirji Ponijan from Johor, 54, a sergeant-major said he is happy to cast his vote.

His choice, of course remains a secret but his wish is clear that is to see a competent and capable leader leading Malaysia's future.

Mohd Zaizul Asani Meli, aged 40 who is part of the Kelantan army is motivated by the desire to improve welfare for the armed forces in the state.

They were also visited by caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar Amiruddin Shaari. He was there for five minutes from 11.16am to 11.21am.
