BAYAN LEPAS – Pantai Jerejak voters may not be aware of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) but very much acquainted with its president Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman.
Priyankaa Loh, who is contesting in the area for Muda, said she will utilise her president’s popularity to her benefit in a bid to garner votes.
"When I’m approaching all voters in Pantai Jerejak, they know my political party from our president.
"Not only that, they even say that our president is such a young leader but very smart and energetic, 'Oh that handsome one' they say.
"So from this, I believe that our party is relevant and doable not only for Penangnites but for all Malaysians," she told Sinar Daily in an interview today.
When asked why Muda was relevant in Penang and the people, she also said it was because of Syed Saddiq. She did not elaborate further on the connection of the later and the party’s relevancy in serving the Penangites.
Loh, however, said Muda was not just about Syed Saddiq but what the party can offer.
She is up against Fahmi Zainol from Pakatan Harapan, Oh Tong Keong from Perikatan Nasional and Ravinder Singh from Parti Rakyat Malaysia.
Fun fact about Pantai Jerejak is 26-year old Loh is the youngest candidate while 80-year old Ravinder is the oldest to contest in the Penang state polls. Read more about Loh's experience and mission here.
