JELUTONG - DAP's RSN Rayer has expressed his gratitude towards Unity Government's component party, Barisan Nasional (BN) for their sincerity.
The Jelutong MP feels more appreciative of this "red and blue" coalition after seeing the fate of Gerakan President Datuk Dominic Lau in Perikatan Nasional (PN).
"After I saw what happened to Dominic, I feel more grateful and thankful to BN even though we just 'got friends' in this unity government months ago.
"Even the Jelutong Umno chief invited me to his house to have a feast. I hope that our friendship and partnership grows stronger after the state election," he said in a DAP mega ceramah here today.
Rayer was referring to Lau, who was reportedly asked to leave the PN mega talk after showing up without being invited.
Lau, who is the Bayan Lepas candidate, however claimed that it was "untrue."
He said he had gone to the talk to meet Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, but as the event ran late, he left without meeting him.
Recently, Lau's candidacy for the Bayan Lepas state seat was opposed by Bayan Lepas Pas members, who staged a peaceful protest and threatened to boycott the nomination and state election this time.
It is understood that the PN candidate in the Bayan Lepas seat was initially given to Pas.
