SHAH ALAM - In a heart-wrenching post, Malaysian celebrity chef Chef Wan said he is battling lymphoma cancer.

The news broke at 3pm when the doctor revealed the biopsy results of the lymph nodes, confirming the challenging journey ahead.

"Just had my ECG test just now. At 3pm my Dr broke the news about the biopsy of my lymph nodes. They had to run it twice to make sure the result they got.

"I have indeed lymphoma cancer," he said in an instagram post.

He was assigned to oncologist Dr Jay Suriar immediately where he was

explained all the necessary steps needed to battle the disease, starting with PET scan to determine the stage of cancer and if it has spread to other organs.

"The fact that i discovered it first while still feeling normal and not sick and looking at the size the doctor said its probably at the early stage," he said, adding that the scan will be carried out tomorrow.

"At this stage, chances of getting cured is 70 to 80 per cent," he added.

Despite the challenges ahead, he manged to crack a joke stating that he will lose his hair.

"OMG, i can start imagining myself in different fabulous wigs after this treatment, Elvis, M Daud Kilau style, Samy Velu, Liberace and many more!. It will be so funny," said Chef Wan who is known to be generous with his jokes.

The 65-year old further said: "Who knows at this point i may accept all my challenges with an open heart and great courage. This is life.....you simply need to take things one at day at a time and in a positive way.'

He also gave assurance to his family who had broke down after receiving the news.

"My daughter and son in law broked down hearing this...i told them don't cry please. i will be ok.

"I am not leaving yet!," he wrote.

Chef Wan further wrote that he needs to be strong and get well fast.

"Insyallah Allah will look after me," he added.
