KUALA LUMPUR - Parti Peribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Deputy President Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has filed a counter-police report over the allegations that he sexually harassed a woman recently.
Ahmad Faizal said the accusations detailed in the women's report are untrue.
"I was informed that the report linked my name, and the individual made several accusations against me.
"These accusations are completely false, and I believe there is an element of criminal incitement and slander involved in this," he said on Facebook after making a police report at the Sri Hartamas Police Station, Kuala Lumpur, on Thursday.
The Negeri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman said he was not present at the scene, as detailed in the report.
He added that he was attending an official event in Negri Sembilan, he added.
"Many witnesses can confirm my presence in Negri Sembilan. I was carrying out official duties as the Bersatu Deputy President at the time," he said.
Ahmad Faizal said he trusted the police to investigate the matter.
"I also have the right to take legal action against the parties involved," he said.
Ahmad Faizal added that utilising the campaign period to discuss political issues and policies that can drive the country forward is crucial.
"Personal attacks do not provide any benefit and only waste the time and resources of the authorities," he said.
On Thursday, a police report allegedly made by a woman linking Ahmad Faizal went viral on social media.
Based on the police report, the woman claimed that Ahmad Faizal had uttered disrespectful words towards her.
