GOMBAK - Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali will be reinstated as the Selangor Menteri Besar if Perikatan Nasional (PN) wins and is given the mandate in the state election on August 12.
PN candidate for Gombak Setia, Muhammad Hilman Idham, reiterated his confidence in Azmin's leadership in a ceramah in Gombak Setia yesterday night.
According to him, Pas Selangor Commissioner Datuk Dr. Yunus Hairi who previously held the position of Exco for Islamic Affairs in Selangor will also return to the state government administration.
"God willing, Azmin will win in Hulu Kelang and return to Shah Alam as Menteri Besar.
"Yunus, who is contesting in Sijangkang, will also win and return to Shah Alam," he said.
Previously, Azmin was the Selangor Menteri Besar from 2014 to 2018 before being appointed as the Economic Affairs Minister during the administration of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
The position was later assumed by Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari who was appointed by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to continue in that role if Pakatan Harapan (PH) wins in Selangor.
For the record, Selangor has been under the administration of PH since 2008 after Barisan Nasional (BN) was defeated.
