PUTRAJAYA - The Election Commission’s (EC) special meeting to discuss the Pulai parliamentary seat and Simpang Jeram state seat by-elections in Johor, is taking place here today.
The meeting, chaired by EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh, is to discuss, among others, the dates for the writ of election, nomination and polling, the electoral rolls to be used and other preparations for the by-elections.
EC deputy chairman Dr Azmi Sharom, EC secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak, commission members Zoey Randhawa, Dr Mohd Faisal Syam Abdol Hazis, Datuk Nik Ali Mat Yunus and Datuk Dr Lee Bee Phang as well as EC senior officers are also in the meeting.
The by-elections are called following the death of the incumbent, the late Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub on July 23.
