KUALA LUMPUR - Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) has officially appointed Meru Utama Sdn Bhd as the media concessionaire for ERL through a contract signed by both parties on Wednesday.
ERL Chief Executive Officer Noormah Mohd Noor said the contract was sealed for a duration of three years.
She expressed optimism that through this collaboration, they foresee potential returns in line with the recovery of the aviation industry post Covid-19 pandemic.
"We believe the increasing number of air travel will give a positive impact to the ERL passenger numbers.
"We expect our passenger numbers to recover by over 80 per cent from pre-pandemic levels towards the end of this year.
"Our collaboration will provide more exposure to both foreign and local tourists.
"We are confident that with Meru Utama's extensive experience and commitment to quality, they can effectively utilise our media assets to generate maximum value for all parties," she said during the Signing Ceremony between ERL and Meru Utama, held in Kuala Lumpur.
The agreement was signed by Noormah and Meru Utama Director, Aznur Azizuddin.
Meru Utama is a pioneer in airport advertising industry with 39 years of experience.
Under this contract, Meru Utama will manage and operate ERL's advertising assets, covering all stations and all Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Ekspres and KLIA Transit trains.
Additionally, the company will also invest in and install state-of-the-art digital assets at these stations.
Meanwhile, Business Unit Director of Meru Utama, Herman Lim said they currently manage advertising mediums at KLIA Terminal 1, KLIA Terminal 2, and Senai International Airport in Johor.
"With this collaboration between ERL and Meru Utama, we offer our clients broader exposure for passengers accessing their journey from Kuala Lumpur City Center to Putrajaya, all the way to KLIA.
"Furthermore, due to the increasing demand for Digital Out Of Home advertising, we will invest in and install new digital assets at these stations," he said.
