KOTA BHARU - Kelantan Barisan Nasional Secretary Datuk Md Alwi Che Ahmad, has described former Umno Secretary-General, Tan Sri Annuar Musa, as a disappointed and disgruntled leader.
Md Alwi said that the people should not entertain such leaders as these traits reflect poor leadership.
"As far as I know, there is no issue related to branch leaders wanting to leave this party, and as for Tan Sri Annuar Musa, we put him aside because he is a frustrated person.
"People who are in a state of anger cannot be given much attention. Anger is not a trait of a leader," he said during the BN-PH State Election press conference at the Umno Kelantan office here on Wednesday.
Earlier, Annuar, who is also the Chairman of Muafakat Nasional and former Member of Parliament for Ketereh, announced that some Umno members, leaders, and former leaders will leave the party to follow in his footsteps.
The declaration will be made during a simple ceremony at his home this Friday.
According to Md Alwi, the claims of mass defection of Umno members, including several branch leaders, which may result in the closure of some party branches, did not shake his confidence
He stated that party-switching is a common occurrence, and those who leave will likely return to Umno later.
"For me, let anyone who wants to leave go. Those who want to stay with Umno can continue.
"Whatever the decision, this Madani Government will remain, and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will still be the Prime Minister," he said.
