JEMPOL - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that he will meet with the MIC leadership to discuss the misunderstanding that has occurred.
Anwar stressed that every party in the coalition of the unity government, including MIC is part of a team.
"I will meet with the MIC president and all MIC leaders throughout the country so that they do not misunderstand.
"We are a team. There are Indians in DAP, there are many Indians in PKR, as well as MIC while there are many Malays in Umno, even PKR," he said in his speech at Jeram Padang, here.
Therefore, he said the main focus of all parties at the moment is to think about saving the country and at the same time ensure that victory can be achieved in the state elections
Previously, a portal revealed that a meeting had been arranged by MIC with Anwar following allegations of 'bad treatment' by Umno towards MIC.
An MIC source who declined to be identified was reported as saying that the party was not satisfied with the way they were treated by Umno and their Barisan Nasional partners during seat negotiations for the state elections in six states.
Meanwhile, Anwar also asked the Indian community to not waste their votes by choosing the wrong party.
He added that if there are one or two things that are not satisfactory it will be resolved.
"Don't give space to people (leaders) who would like to see us fight against each other. Don't give space to political figures who are desperate.
"When you were in command, you gave the Jana Wibawa project for the Malays to the Chinese. But when you go to the villages, you talk about the Malays," he said.
