KOTA BHARU - Former Bachok Member of Parliament Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz or Nik Abduh announced that he will be taking a break from politics for a while.
The statement was conveyed by the son of former Kelantan Menteri Besar, the late Tan Sri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat in a Facebook post that he recently made.
"I'm taking a break from politics for a while, it is a most difficult time for both me and my mother.
"May Pas grow stronger with the best leadership to drive the country's future, forward" he wished in his Facebook post
A controversy arose a few days ago when Nik Abduh was not nominated for the Chempaka State Assembly seat (DUN) in the state polls.
On Saturday, Sinar reported that Nik Abduh's uncle, Nik Din, stated that Mohd Amar was the reason for Nik Abduh's absence as a state election candidate in Kelantan.
Nik Din also stated that Pas president,Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, had written a letter requesting that Nik Abduh's name be listed.
He was surprised that his nephew's name was not nominated for the Chempaka seat.
Mohd Amar had earlier denied any involvement in Nik Abduh's selection as state election candidate.
Describing the allegations as defamatory, he highlighted that the party making such allegations was not involved in the meeting for the candidate selection and held no posts within the party.
