KUALA NERANG - Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Mohd Radzi Md Amin, or Pak Su among the locals, is not afraid to face his challenger, Barisan Nasional (BN) bigwig Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, better known as Tok Det.

Regardless of who his challengers may be for the Pedu state seat, Mohd Radzi is prepared to provide intense competition.

He believes the political contest will be determined by the community members who will vote on Aug 12.

"No matter who competes, it is not an obstacle because each person has their own way of working and a unique approach to engaging with the community.

"I am not intimidated by heavyweight candidates. Every political contestant must face challenges differently," he said on Sunday.

Mohd Radzi is committed to promoting development in Pekan Naka, which is lagging behind other areas.

"I don't want to promise the moon and stars to the Pedu people. I only wish to serve as well as possible as a representative.

"Most of the land in Naka is owned by KEDA (Kedah Regional Development Authority). I am determined to find a solution to develop this area and assist the people of Pedu. I aspire that the community will benefit from our joint efforts and experience the positive outcomes of our actions," he said.

Mohd Radzi is confident that he will be able to retain his seat for a second term due to the support of the voters and the PN wave in Kedah.

"This time, there is a greater effort to increase the majority of votes than the last GE14, which was 670 votes. The majority at that time was small, even though BN was considered strong, but I overcame it. However, we cannot reveal our strategy," he said.

Mohd Radzi defeated BN candidate Kama Noriah Ibrahim and Hashim Idris from PKR in the last GE14.

In the upcoming state polls, there are 28,586 eligible voters in Pedu, with 51 voting channels for individuals to cast their votes.
