PORT DICKSON - Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, expressed his concern over the recent praises given to Perikatan Nasional (PN) and its component party, Pas, by those who had previously labeled them as 'heretical' and 'infidel'.
Anwar pointed out that the ones who made such statements were PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"I have never heard an Umno leader say Pas is a heretical party. Who said that? Muhyiddin.
"The only national leader who said Pas is an infidel party... Dr Mahathir.
"That's what they're carrying now. Pity... We should feel sorry for them," he said.
Anwar was speaking at the Jelajah Perpaduan Madani in Port Dickson on Thursday.
Anwar expressed pity for PN and Pas for now being associated with the labels they were once criticised with.
On a separate matter, Anwar also said that when Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang was sick and someone prayed for him to die, the person was ordered to apologise immediately.
"That's the way, the moral value of Madani Malaysia but they (Opposition) insult every day.
"There is ustaz, Tok Guru in front, they are still smiling. What kind of religion is being taught?
"We in religion must honor people. Different skin color, culture is not to insult but for us to appreciate each other," he stressed. - AWANI
