KOTA BHARU - Two female candidates have been nominated by Perikatan Nasional (PN) from Pas for the upcoming state election in Kelantan.
The first candidate is Rohani Ibrahim, the incumbent in the Tanjung Mas state legislative assembly.
She has held the Tanjung Mas state seat since 2004 and won in the 14th General Election (GE14) with 13,154 votes, representing Pas.
In the previous election, she defeated Madihah Ab Aziz, a candidate from Barisan Nasional (BN)-Umno, who secured 4,945 votes, and Hafidzah Mustakim, a Pakatan Harapan candidate (PH)-Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), who received 6,139 votes.
The second candidate is Nor Asilah Mohamed Zain, a newcomer, who will be contesting in the Limbongan state assembly.
She is an overseas graduate and currently serves as an ustazah at Saniah Arab Religious High School in Pasir Puteh.
In the Demit state assembly, the candidate will be Mohamad Asri Daud, who is the Political Secretary to the Kelantan Menteri Besar, Datuk Ahmad Yakob.
The announcement of these candidates was made by Ahmad at the PN state election candidate announcement ceremony yesterday, where a total of 45 candidates were announced.
