SHAH ALAM - Three tracker dogs from the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department's (CID) K9 unit were awarded for their excellent service on Wednesday following their contributions to solving a murder case.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said certificates of appreciation were awarded to the canines - K9 Leo, K9 Kansas and K9 Kidd - who are part of Unit D6B.
"During a murder probe, K9 Kansas and K9 Leo managed to detect the victim's blood on a wooden object about 100 metres away from where the body was found.
"K9 Kansas and K9 Kidd also managed to detect the victim and suspect's blood stains about 300 metres away from where the victim's body was discovered," the state top cop said at the monthly assembly at the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters, today.
Hussein said he hoped the excellent service awarded to the recipients at the meeting would motivate and encourage others to excel in their performance.
Hussein also expressed his gratitude to all officers and personnel at the contingent for their continuous support and sacrifices since he became the state police chief.
He said the dedication and hard work of the members of the Selangor police contingent have reflected positively and steadily producing favourable outcomes.
Meanwhile, a total of 56 officers were also awarded a certificate of appreciation at the assembly, which Selangor deputy police chief Datuk S.Sasikala and other department heads also attended.
