SHAH ALAM - All Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) leadership and members are asked to not worry about who will fill in the party's deputy president post previously held by the late Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub.
Its president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said the party's leadership will discuss the matter with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim soon.
"Let's not think about who will replace the late Salahuddin for now.
"We shouldn't be used by others in this issue. The Amanah leadership will manage it on its own to the best of our abilities on the leadership replacement and the future of the party according to the rules and party practices," he said in a statement, today.
Salahuddin who was the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister had passed away at 9.23pm on Sunday at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah.
It was reported that Salahuddin was rushed to the hospital at 10.15pm on Friday after he felt nauseous and vomited before he was confirmed to have had a brain haemorrhage.
Mohamad said the focus of the party's leadership for now was on the state elections in six states.
"I am committed to provide focus on the responsibilities of the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry and come down together with members and help out with the election machinery.
"We have an important responsibility to provide victory for candidates of parties in the unity government that are Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN," he said.
