ALOR SETAR – Kedah Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) will launch their manifesto on Thursday as an offer to the voters if they are elected to form a government in the next state election.

State Unity Leadership Council chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said that the manifesto offered was to look after and treat all groups, including fishermen, paddy farmers, rubber tappers, youth and women, after the Kedah government led by Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor allegedly failed to do so for the past three years.

He said the manifesto was also believed to bring stability and prosperity to the people.

"There are many things that will be presented in the manifesto and it will touch on things that can bring good to the people as a whole because the current state government has not only failed, it has not done anything.

"What is he ( Sanusi) doing besides criticising others? If you want to be a leader, you have to be serious because between the leadership of the state and the people, government officials are the middleman who are responsible for implementing programmes for the development of the state," he said at a press conference on Tuesday.

He said this after he chaired the Kedah State Unity Leadership Council Meeting at the Umno Office, Bangunan Tunku, near here.

Mahdzir said the manifesto launch ceremony would be held at the parking lot of Bandar Laguna Merbok at 9pm.

He said BN and PH candidates would be on the same stage to be introduced to the public.

"Right now, everything is going smoothly. We also agreed to carry out a tour amongst the leadership throughout the campaign period and a committee comprising both coalitions will be established to coordinate the series of tours.

"The committee will coordinate the arrival of Central leaders to Kedah and determine the best location for them to campaign.

"We will announce more information on the matter from time to time," he said.
