SHAH ALAM - Want to say something nice?
Why not start by joining the #saysomethingnice campaign which starts from Merdeka Day on Aug 31 to Malaysia Day on September 16 as a time of peace and truce, where people take the time to stop, reflect, and reset.
They aim of the campaign is to promote unity, spread positivity and encourage Malaysians to celebrate their diversity and embrace their shared traditions.
This year's theme is "Stay Measured to Move Forward.”
Being measured is the midpoint of extremes, finding balance between deficiency and excess – this means doing the right thing, in relation to the right person, at the right time, to the right extent, in the right manner, and for the right purpose.
"A time to also showcase the best of Malaysia and help achieve the first ambition of the Rukun Negara – achieving a more perfect unity amongst the whole society," said Zubedy, a for-profit organisation with a social cause.
Others joining the campaign are National Unity and Integrity department, Ikram Malaysia, Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Hindu Sangam, Taylors University. Muslim Aid Malaysia, Kechara Soup Kitchen.
The statement said it serves as a neutral platform that encourages all sectors of society to come break bread and foster unity and positivity, in celebration of our diversity, during the most important dates of our nation’s life.
Some of the 50 projects in the 17 day campaign include #servesomethingnice, #plantsomethingnice, #hike, #hostsomethingnice, #deliversomethingnice, #learn, #eatsomethingnice, #grocerysomethingnice, among others.
