KUALA LUMPUR - The police are still tracking down the suspect who placed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the tire of lawyer Siti Kasim's car.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, said that the police are actively pursuing the suspect through fingerprint and other related evidence.
"The discovery of the bomb is a serious crime and poses a threat similar to attempted murder.
"Further investigations are being conducted by the Ciy police," he said when contacted today.
Razarudin said that the police are taking aggressive action in the investigation and will not allow irresponsible individuals to commit such crimes.
"The public is urged not to make any speculations related to the case that could disrupt the investigation," he said.
Earlier, Brickfields district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor, confirmed that two objects found under Siti Kasim's car, whose real name is Siti Zabedah Kassim, were IEDs.
He said that this conclusion was based on the investigation conducted by the Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB).
Last Friday, Siti Kasim, in a live Facebook broadcast, claimed that an object resembling a bomb was placed in her car.
Siti Kasim said that she noticed the object placed in the tire when she sent her vehicle to a service center at noon.
