SHAH ALAM - PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says the position of caretaker Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun should be retained due to his impressive track record during his previous administration.

Anwar said the decision was in line with the goal of continuing Malaysia's progress and furthering developing Negeri Sembilan.

He further said that he has discussed the matter with Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi.

"After discussing with the Umno president, I firmly believe that defending Aminuddin by 100 per cent is appropriate, given his exceptional work and track record," Anwar said.

Anwar said this duringhis speech to unveil list of candidates' for the upcoming state polls at Padang Awam MBSA, Seksyen 7.

Besides Negeri Sembilan, Anwar highlighted that caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and caretaker Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow should also retain their positions based on their performances in governing their respective states.

Anwar reminded PKR members that the party's strength is not solely reliant on the president, deputy and vice president but also on the leadership of the unity government.

"We, including Rafizi - PKR Vice President and others, adopt a tougher approach to ensure better performance, as the people's expectations are high and PKR is a reformist party," Anwar concluded.
