SHAH ALAM - Terengganu Umno chief Datuk Seri Ahmad Said is urging youths and first-time voters to vote for Barisan Nasional (BN) for the sake of their future well-being as the coalition has a good record in providing job opportunities and education in the state.
Furthermore, Ahmad shared his own experiences as the former Terengganu Menteri Besar, highlighting the huge investments made in education during his tenure.
"When I was the Menteri Besar, we allocated a significant amount of money, at least RM300 million annually to education alone. We were pioneers in introducing e-books and were recognised as the 'first country in the world' to implement this programme," Ahmad said.
He also highlighted Terengganu's success in the UPSR examination, consistently ranking first in Malaysia for the past 13 years.
In addition to excelling in education, Terengganu has also made remarkable achievements in sports with more than 50 per cent of athletes participating in the Sea Games hailing from the state.
"The state also boasts professional cycling and hockey teams as well," he told Sinar Daily's Politically Frank.
Ahmad took pride in having provided quality education to students who have gone on to become professional doctors, pilots, and engineers.
When asked on addressing youth unemployment in Terengganu, Ahmad expressed confidence that both Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN could provide more job opportunities given their historical track records and experiences.
