JOHOR BAHRU - Umno Supreme Council (MKT) Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi has urged the government to immediately repair the aerotrain facilities at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
He said Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook and Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing needed to take responsibility on the facilities at the country's main gateway.
"What happened to the Transport Ministry? The shuttle train from the main building to the international departure terminal is broken again. It has been broken many times.
"This is supposed to be a ‘first class facility' but it has ‘low class maintenance.'
"The repairs are being done very slowly. When I went to Jeddah on June 17, this train was already broken.
"When I returned a month later, it was still broken. KLIA is the gateway for foreign tourists.
"The image of a developed country gets dimmed when tourists are packed like sardines in a tin inside a bus," he said in a statement on Facebook, today.
The Speaker of the Johor State Legislative Assembly emphasised that KLIA which provided first-class facilities, served as the main entrance for tourists.
"Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) is another matter. Passengers and tourists are crammed inside buses, standing with their hand luggage.
"Pity the elderly. Is this Malaysia's hospitality? Where is Datuk Tiong King Sing? He is the Tourism Minister.
"Doesn't he want to address the issue at KLIA for the second time? On that day, he was busy with a Chinese woman.
"This involves thousands of tourists every day. Why the silence? I urge the Prime Minister to visit KLIA again," he said
