ALOR SETAR - Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor claims that leaders from Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) are using cheap politics to "assassinate" his character as an opposition political leader.

Sanusi who is also the Kedah Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman alleges that certain parties have twisted his speeches in order to mislead the public and create a false understanding of his remarks for the sake of the political interests of PH-BN.

According to him, there was absolutely no intention to insult the Sultan of Selangor as alleged.

"Their misunderstanding is being imposed on others solely to gain political advantage from the issue while 'assassinating' me.

"Everyone is jumping into an issue that they themselves have created from the 3R (religion, race, and royal institution) plot," he said when contacted on Friday.

As of Friday, the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain informed that the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) has received 31 police reports nationwide regarding Muhammad Sanusi's alleged insult against the Sultan of Selangor.

As a result, the police have initiated an investigation against the PN Central Election Director on Wednesday.

Sanusi believes that the strategy of banning the use of the 3R issues is like building a wall to protect opposing political leaders through a reverse strategy, rather than focusing on the genuine aspects of 3R.

"All efforts are now directed towards 'assassinating' several PN leaders, as PH and BN have no development agenda of their own.

"There are no programs to revive the economy, address economic problems, the fall of the ringgit, rising prices, increasing inflation, and the failure to attract new investments, apart from the failures of ministers to function," he explained.

He mentioned that not a single minister has produced any new products for the country, including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is only busy giving speeches to undermine political opponents instead of focusing on national development.

"Perhaps PH and BN have gone bankrupt in terms of ideas and capabilities as the new government is peddled under the banner of unity.

"Instead, all efforts, time, plans, and the government machinery are used for political interests," he added.

Sanusi stated that what PH-BN is doing is solely focused on self-preservation.

"They have no new ideas, their only weapon is to 'assassinate' their opponents.

"The country is suffering, and the people are in distress," he said.

Sanusi also criticized Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari accusing him of trying to act superior and wanting to teach him how to develop Kedah.

"The main issue is that he wants to appear superior, wanting to educate me on how to develop Kedah.

"Amirudin failed to counter my argument that PH inherited a developed Selangor before PH took over due to Kuala Lumpur being the center of administration, economy, and development in the state," he explained.

He further likened Amirudin to washing his hands and feet after taking over the administration of Selangor.

"There is no added value brought by PH apart from benefiting from the economic and development overflow from Kuala Lumpur.

"Selangor has progressed due to the implementation of 'The Greater Klang Valley' policy by the previous federal government, just like in Penang, which benefited from 'The Greater Penang.'

"It is not because PH is smarter at governing compared to other parties," he emphasized.

Previously, Amirudin characterized Muhammad Sanusi as being "two-faced" when belittling the royal institution of Selangor, stating that it reflects the true nature of the Pas leader who supposedly fights for Malay issues but lacks respect for the royal institution.
