SHAH ALAM - Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan has demanded that Bangi Pas chief Mohd Shafie Ngah apologise and pay compensation to him for making slanderous statements about him at two recent Perikatan Nasional (PN) events.
Syahredzan said that if Mohd Shafie does not comply with his demands within 48 hours, he will take legal action against him.
"As the Bangi MP, I am open to criticism of my performance since I was elected last year. However, it seems that Bangi PN is only interested in playing slanderous and hateful politics rather than mature or prosperous politics,” he said in a Facebook post earlier today.
Syahredzan has previously said that he would not hesitate to take legal action against PN supporters, especially Pas, who slandered him over the use of the word "Allah” by non-Muslims.
The political secretary to DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang said that any parties who continue to slander him would face the risk of being sued.
Syahredzan said that his lawyers have sent a letter of demand to Mohd Shafie today.
"With this, the process will begin against him. The disputed statements are completely false and are slanderous towards me,” he said.
