GOMBAK - Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has slammed Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor who said that Selangor is developed because it is next to Kuala Lumpur.
Amirudin cynically questioned the economic impact on Kedah which is located next to Penang.
"Sanusi needs to look in the mirror, look at his own state before looking at others'. Kedah is next to Penang, but what is the impact?
"Penang has developed a lot, received large investments, had the highest economic position after Selangor and Kuala Lumpur but Kedah is still contributing below five per cent to the gross domestic product (GDP)," he said.
Sanusi in an interview posted on Facebook recently expressed his belief that Kedah can become the most developed state if Kuala Lumpur is next to the state.
He denied that Selangor became the most developed state for being governed by Pakatan Harapan (PH) but were lucky because it happened to sit close to Kuala Lumpur.
Amirudin said that Kuala Lumpur was previously part of Selangor and had benefitted from Selangor due to its strategic position and it also had successfully provided a satellite city since the 70s.
Amirudin added that he will come over to Kedah next week to share tips to become the best state.
