KLUANG - A woman sustained injuries to her wrists after struggling with two men, one equipped with a machete, in an incident at a budget hotel counter in Jalan Sultanah here on Wed.
Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident occurred at 12.55 am, when the woman was working when she was approached by two men, one carrying a machete.
"One suspect approached the counter to talk with the victim.
"The second suspect holding the machete then came in, pointing it at the victim while rummaging through the counter drawers.
"The victim sustained injuries on her left arm while attempting to struggle against the suspects who took her mobile phone," he said in a statement on Saturday.
He said the suspect had taken RM350 of the employer’s cash from the victim and escaped in a white Toyota Vios.
He said the case was investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code, which provides a prison sentence of up to 20 years and a fine if found guilty.
