PUTRAJAYA - The state polls to be held on Aug 12, is expected to incur a cost of RM420 million.
Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh said 3,450 polling centres with 17,425 channels would be opened.
"173 candidate nomination centres and 186 official voting tally centres would be used in the state polls," he said.
He said a total of 153,760 officers were appointed to handle the voting process.
"A total of 260 early polling centres with 377 channels would be used," Ghani said.
He added the voter registry that would be used was up to the April Supplementary Voter Registry list updated on June 21.
It involved 9,773,571 voters consisted of 9,674,456 public voters, military and partners (49,660), police and partners (47,728) and overseas voters (1,727).
"The voter registry would be up for sale from July 17," he said.
Ghani said the review of polling centres and channels, and numbers could be reviewed from July 17.
