BAGAN SERAI - Police are currently searching for a man believed to have fired gunshots at a residence in Kuala Gula on Tuesday.
The homeowner, who lives with his wife and four children, was alerted to the incident at 3am.
Perak Police Chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Bari said that the 56-year-old victim reported hearing a loud noise outside his home.
A team of investigators quickly responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.
Fortunately, none of the residents were injured during the incident.
"Gunshot marks were found on the victim's vehicle, motorcycle, and door. "The Perak Criminal Investigation Department Forensic Division (D10) Team discovered five 9mm bullet casings," he said in a statement today.
Yusri mentioned that preliminary investigations revealed the suspect was riding a motorcycle and fired multiple shots at the victim's home.
The motive behind the incident is currently under investigation, and efforts to capture the suspect are underway.
"The case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971," he added.
