SHAH ALAM - The Communications and Digital Ministry is urged to maintain fairness and take decisive action against any party that exploits sensitive issues of race, religion, and the royal institution (3R) for political gain.
Pas information chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin has called for strict measures to be taken against DAP for their alleged open manipulation of 3R issues.
"In light of Nga Kor Ming's statement concerning the Kota Bharu Municipal Council's handling of the issue of indecent dressing, deliberately turning it into a matter of spreading Islamophobia.
"Tony Pua's characterisation of not only Barisan Nasional (BN) but also other nationalist and Malay-led parties as corrupt.
"And Lim Guan Eng's assertion that voting for Perikatan Nasional (PN) in Penang would lead to the eradication of Penang, a statement clearly intended to intimidate and contradict the Federal Constitution," he said in a statement today.
He further stressed that politics aims to address the people's concerns and find solutions, rather than inciting disputes and fostering hatred as DAP allegedly does.
Khairil assured Pas is committed to prioritising the people's issues and will incorporate them as campaign material in the upcoming state election, in line with PN's approach.
"Pas will not follow in the footsteps of DAP, who are so desperate that they are willing to become instigators by exploiting sensitive 3R issues in their statements," he added.
