SEREMBAN - Negeri Sembilan DAP chairman Anthony Loke is ready to campaign for Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan to ensure victory in the Rantau state assembly in the upcoming state polls.
He said the same commitment was also expressed for other Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in the polls, showing cooperation in the Unity Government.
"I personally offered Tok Mat a few days ago to campaign in Rantau to help him out.
"I also welcome his as well as other leaders' in our area. This is the spirit that we want to embrace in this state election in the spirit of the Unity Government," he said.
Loke was speaking at a press conference after chairing a DAP state committee meeting at the Negeri Sembilan DAP office on Saturday.
On Negeri Sembilan DAP machinery under the Unity Government, the Seremban member of parliament said that the people have received and accepted the coalition well.
"So far, there has been no voice or question about our cooperation with BN. I have never been asked why the party made that decision.
"But I always give our perspective and explanation. I also believe that Umno gives an adequate explanation to their grassroots," he said.
Apart from that, he also shared his confidence that Negeri Sembilan voters would accept the Unity Government in the state.
He added that the PH and BN coalition's administration of the state government could bring Negeri Sembilan to a higher level.
"These two parties have extensive experience governing Negeri Sembilan.
"BN has governed this state for a long time, and PH has shown the best performance in the past five years.
"With our (PH) partnership with BN, who have extensive experience in Negeri Sembilan, I believe that this will give confidence to the people," he said.
