SHAH ALAM - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is not in turmoil despite reports of three leaders from the party's wing sponsor committee have been sacked.
Bersatu Srikandi vice-chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said external parties deliberately caused commotion on the matter and described it as an immature act.
"I am confident and believe that the highest leadership's action is to further strengthen the organisational and administrative structure.
"We respect the decision made by the top leadership and it was not aimed at destroying the party's administrative structure but instead to further strengthen the leadership," she told Sinar today.
Previously, a local media portal reported that Bersatu is in turmoil following the dismissal of three leaders from Bersatu Wing Associate Sponsor Committee who represented the non-Bumiputera members.
Several disputes related to this issue had been raised including claims that it was not in accordance with the party's constitution and did not receive approval from Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Additionally, Mas Ermieyati said the incident was expected to happen especially when the state election is just around the corner.
"Previously, there were parties who tried to create friction between the president and secretary-general but after it was checked, nothing actually happened.
"We know that the state election heat has risen and they want to cover their weaknesses by triggering disputes we already predicted to happen," he said.
