Congestion in Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR - With Hari Raya Haji approaching on Thursday, the city centre here is clogged with traffic since evening as city dwellers head to the kampung to celebrate the occasion.

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) reported via Twitter that there has been slow traffic on multiple routes since 8pm, including the eastbound section of the Kuala Lumpur - Karak Expressway leading to the Karak Toll Plaza.

Slow-moving traffic has been reported on Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT) 1, especially at Kilometre 25.7 leading to Genting Sempah.

Congestion has also been reported at Sprint Expressway from Section 16 to Kayu Ara, Bukit Kiara Junction to Semantan, Pantai Toll Plaza to Federal Expressway, and Bukit Kiara to Duta.

Twitter user @amalinakaman said the congestion is similar to the usual Friday evening traffic.

On the other hand, Twitter user @AliffJazli said the congestion is mostly concentrated around city centre and tends to ease out as vehicles enter the highway.

According to a tweet by @vsxkkkk, there is congestion reported at all entrances to the Duta-Ulu Kelang highway (DUKE).

Traffic congestion is expected to increase over time.
