KUALA LUMPUR - A trailer driver was killed while his wife and son were injured after the sand-laden lorry he was driving skidded and plunged into a ravine at KM43.3 of the Karak-Kuala Lumpur Highway today.
Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said Mohamad Hasrul Abdul Halim, 33, was trapped in the wreckage and died on the spot in the 4 am incident.
"His 41-year-old wife and five-year-old son suffered light injuries and were sent to Hospital Bentong in Pahang," he said in a statement.
He said initial investigations showed that the lorry travelling in the direction of Taiping, Perak towards Terengganu went out of control at a corner and plunged into the ravine after crashing through the roadside barrier- BERNAMA
