KLANG - Kota Raja Umno division chief Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz is confident that Pakatan Harapan (PH) will be able to defend three state assembly seats under the Kota Raja parliament.
The Kota Raja Parliament consisted of the Sungai Kandis state seat held by Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni (PH-PKR), Kota Kemuning, V Ganabatirau (PH-DAP), and Sentosa, G Gunaraj (PH-PKR).
Zafrul said Umno was prepared to help the unity government machinery defend all three seats.
"I’m optimistic that if we work together, Insya-Allah, all three state seats will be defended.
"What’s important is the victory of the unity government," he said briefly in his speech at the Sungai Kandis State Assembly Jelajah Arus Merah Kuning in Tapak Rakan Muda Sri Andalas here on Sunday.
Also present was Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, who was the Selangor PH chairman.
The expedition was done in preparation for the Selangor state election after the Selangor Sultan, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, agreed to dissolve the state assembly on June 23.
The division of seats involved the cooperation of PH-BN in Selangor, which raised question marks after Amirudin took a lock and key approach on the matter.
Zafrul, who was an Umno Supreme Council member, was rumoured to be contesting one seat in the Kota Raja Parliament.
There were also claims of Zafrul contesting in Kuang, but it has not confirmed yet.
