CHERAS - The seat distribution process between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in Selangor is nearing completion, with only one or two seats remaining to be finalised.
According to Selangor PH chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the final decision will be made jointly by PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Amirudin stated that the coalition has sufficient time to finalise the selection of candidates and the allocation of seats for the Selangor election.
"Usually, we would take some time. I think we have plenty of time. We have gathered some of the candidates for a while.
"We have been gathering a list of candidates since the last general election, in case we needed to use it.
"Our candidate list includes both incumbent and new candidates, some of whom were unsuccessful in the previous election," Amirudin added.
These statements were made by Amirudin while accompanying the Prime Minister for Friday prayers at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn Mosque in Cheras.
Meanwhile, on the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance's (Muda) participation in the Selangor election, Amirudin stressed that the PH Council would make the decision, and he would support any outcome.
In the previous state election, the Selangor state assembly had 56 contested seats, with PH and BN winning 45 of them.
Amirudin also mentioned that discussions are underway for seat negotiations in Negeri Sembilan, Penang, and Terengganu. - AWANI
