PUTRAJAYA - The Foreign Ministry has condemned the irresponsible act to spread of memorandum note on Malaysia-Indonesia border as Putrajaya initiates probe on leaked infomation on the borders.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the memorandum note, which was reportedly released under the Foreign Ministry was fake.
"We are taking this matter seriously and it has come to our attention that certain untrue issues were raised. However, it is concerning that a map, which was meant to be kept secretl, was turned into a false narrative.
"The note, purportedly from the official Foreign Ministry, is false," he told the media today.
Zambry said the fake memorandum note was crafted with technical precision.
"This is not something an ordinary individual could have done. The note was intricately written with technicalities, indicating a deeper level of involvement. It suggests that the person behind it strongly believed in the content they fabricated," Zambry said.
The foreign ministry has handed over the case to the authorities for a thorough investigation into the data leak.
"A police report was filed last week on this matter," he said.
Earlier, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution had said that the police were investigating the data leak issue on Malaysia and Indonesia border.
The foreign ministry handed it over to the authorities to perform an investigation on the data leak.
