PAPAR - A woman’s body found headless and armless at Sungai Kampung Sapat last Thursday is believed to have been a victim of a crocodile attack.
Papar District Police chief Deputy Superintendent Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said the condition of the body made it difficult to identify the victim.
"So far, we have not been able to fully identify the identity of the victim since there is no head, both hands are missing and the left leg is also missing.
"It is impossible to identify the victim.
"It is believed that the loss of the victim's limbs was caused by a crocodile," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian on Saturday.
Hence, Kamaruddin said that the body has not been claimed.
Sinar Harian last Thursday reported that the body estimated to be between 30 and 40-years-old was found floating and stuck on a tree branch by the river.
The body was also found shirtless with only the right leg which was left.
Police had also asked the public who lost a family member or friend to come to Papar District Police Headquarters (IPD) to identify the body.
