MARANG – Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin refuses to entertain reports claiming that his residence was 'raided' by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), last Tuesday.
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) Secretary-General, said too many slanders had been hurled at him.
At the same time, Hamzah who is also the Larut MP said he would take legal action including against those who spread such accusations.
"Many slanderous accusations have been put against me. I don't want to respond to all the slanderous matters, the news has already been spread (widely) in our country.
"For sure, I will take action when the time comes, Insyaallah. I have asked my officers to go through all the news whether it is official, unofficial... I will just collect it (and) I already have the information," said Hamzah.
He said this at a press conference after the launch of the PN Marang election machinery, in Binjai Rendah here last night.
At the same time, Hamzah said that he would prove that what happened was just a slander to discredit PN leaders.
Recently, the media reported that Hamzah’s residence was raided and searched by officers from the IRB.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that he was not informed about the raid by the IRB at Hamzah's residence.
Anwar said that the raid and search by IRB officials at Hamzah's house was the agency's business as an investigative body. - AWANI
