YANGON - Myanmar authorities have seized 900,000 stimulant tablets in the commercial city of Yangon, according to a statement from the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control on late Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police raided a house in Kamayut Township of Yangon on June 11, and confiscated the drugs, Xinhua quoted the statement as saying.
The seized narcotics are worth approximately 900 million kyats (about US$428,571), it said.
An initial investigation showed that the drugs were being distributed and sold to young people at the KTVs, clubs, bars and restaurants in Yangon.
